The Bir Tawil Gaming Authority
An independent licensing and compliance body established to regulate internet gaming conducted under the Bir Tawil Territorial Charter.
A mandate to license and supervise
The Authority administers the admission, licensing, and ongoing supervision of internet gaming operators. It maintains a public register of licence holders and operates a real-time seal verification service that lets any member of the public confirm the standing of a licensed website.
Its remit spans business-to-consumer and business-to-business activity across four licence classes, each governed by defined conditions and a published code of conduct.
Bir Tawil — terra nullius
Bir Tawil is a tract of roughly 2,060 km² of desert lying between Egypt and Sudan. Two competing historical interpretations of the Egypt–Sudan border exist, and each state constructs its claim to the adjacent Hala’ib Triangle in a way that leaves neither claiming Bir Tawil for itself.
As a consequence, Bir Tawil is the most frequently cited example of terra nullius— literally “no man’s land” — a territory that belongs to no recognised state.
The Authority draws on this unclaimed-territory tradition to operate an independent, self-governing regulatory register. It is answerable to its own Charter rather than to any external administration.
